In the Name of All Things Horrifying
Here are the facts:
Junior Prom.
1982
Amazingly Jane and I did not plan to buy these "matching" dresses, it was a supernatural occurence, unexplainable, mind-boggling to scientists around the world to this day
We also didn't plan the similar pink alligator skin sandals (with tights!) which you can't see in this picture
(WHAT THE?!!!! They didn't even HAVE pink alligators back in Little House on the Prairie times!)
Lest you give us the benefit of the doubt and think this might have been the style then?
No. No one else was wearing anything remotely like these two dresses at our prom.
We were the only ones who wore short dresses, even.
Jane's professionally done hairdo was an unfortunate result of a 93 year old hair stylist or something
My "hairdo" (?), done by moi in front of my bathroom mirror with a curlstick and tied nicely with some pink ribbon from my mom's sewing kit to match my lovely belt, was perhaps even more unfortunate but at least I didn't spend money on it! Ha!
We didn't actually go with pumpkin-headed goofs, but I know these two nice fellows would appreciate anonymity in this instance. They probably were wishing for anonymity that night too, but as you can see, Jane and I were more than delighted to zoom off to our prom and show ourselves off!
Finally, I keep this and the others for whenever Jane and I need to laugh hysterically and look back with wonderment over our childhoods. I hope you enjoyed too!
Happy Halloween!
