Today's Birthday Quotes

Each day of our lives we make deposits in the memory banks of our children.

A family is a place where principles are hammered and honed on the anvil of everyday living.

nice quote.

my friend and i went to a conference put on by Bev Bos - she's truly an amazing person. anyway, she said that children are all born with a full pristine bucket (self esteem) w/no holes and we need to do our best to not put holes in them. but that each time we put them down or yell or several other things, we (and others) are putting holes in their bucket. some are bigger holes than others.

i really try to remember that when i'm getting frustrated -- b/c we ARE making deposites in their memory banks and i don't WANT to add more holes than might already be there or might get there at some point.

did that make sense?

Hi,
Our previous computer recently committed suicide by viruses. We got a new Dell yesterday and I finally got it all hooked up. I just wanted you to know that I bookmarked your blog first. I thought that if I got it started with a little class then ...

(Those last two or three blogs I put up were done at work during lunch or something...)

Re: Gelato etiquette.

Hmmfphf!! It just so happens that my daughter and her husband recently opened a coffee house. In it is the only gelato bar in The Whole Big City. I'm allowed to eat all the gelato I want and share it with my grandskids (when their parents aren't watching.) Hey, I know all about gelato. And etiquette. However, I prefer a big soup spoon, rather than those cute and dainty little spoonettes they give you.
