Yesterday Sean tripped while walking and rebroke his radius in the exact same spot as he did in May. The ulna was fine this time, but the radius is a worse break and they weren't able to set it straight this time so he may have to have it reset this week. The x-ray films made our heart sink. If you're the praying type, I'm praying for a miraculous healing.

Please know I'm praying for you all. Somewhat coincidentally, our eldest son broke his leg in an accident at school this week. He broke both the tibia and fibula just above the ankle. Ironically, I broke my leg when I was a kid in almost the same place.

Parenthood...

Writer that I am, I've been documenting his journey on my blog all week. May we all have happier news to share in the near future.

I saw your comment on Michele's and came over to tell you thta I'll say some prayers for him. It's so hard when they get hurt like that. hugz

PS I read a bit of your blog and congrats on being able to stay home with your children until they were school age. That's wonderful! From one mom that works hard to keep it that way to another. :)

Aww Jen he looks so sweet in that pic, if they do have to set it, will they give him something to make him relax and not feel the pain? They better! No little child should be made to suffer such a thing. Of course you know I am praying here and hope this week goes well and by wednesday your all on the heal, and hopefully the worst will be behind you.

See you on the board.

saw your weekend events on michele's so i wanted to come offer well wishes, prayers and encouragement. hang in there!

p.s. sorry if i sound like the nosey know it all, but does he drink lots of carbonated drinks? my doc told me it leaches the calcium out of bones, making them porous and weak.

take care...

Hi mckay - no, he doesn't. I hardly ever buy soda. As a matter of fact, I just had a big soccer party here where all the moms bring the food and drink. I had 7 half bottles of soda left over and poured them down the drain before my kids could drink them. (And they would've!) I think it was a matter of not healing well because the bone that rebroke was a "green stick" fracture and remained bent even after it set, so it was probably weaker than the other. Thanks for the visit - come on back!
