A Little Christmas Trip

Every Christmas season Longwood Gardens in Pennsylvania lights up the grounds and trees and people - crowds like Disney World - come from all around to see them. We've had a pretty stressful Christmas, truth to tell. I simply can't go into all the details or I'd get angry...you'd get grossed out...and this post would turn from festive to miserable, but between one child's behavior and another child's trip to the ER...well, we needed a little Christmas trip.
I should say everything's fine. I should say that. And mostly it's true. Things got finer when we all went to Longwood Gardens and walked among the beautifully lit trees.
I took 26 pictures on my lousy little camera just to give you the idea. Imagine the crisp cool Christmas air...
the colorful lights....
the kids enjoying a little children's garden....
the mother making them stand still every whipstitch for a picture....
the fact that if I did use a flash it turned out like this and if I did use a flash it turned out black with an occasional light bulb....

See the moon and a star above this red tree? In person it was amazing.
I think they're in this picture somewhere too.
We also ate in a beautiful giant tent, a lovely buffet meal - prime rib, decadent chocolate torte, yummy creamy pasta with mushrooms and more.
I almost think we should make this a tradition.

Here are the two hoodlums waiting for us to wander through the gift shop. My littlest hoodlum was in the ER last night with a, er, digestive problem of sorts. Now he has to see a "butts & guts" surgeon, according to the attending physician. Wait. This was supposed to be a happy post.

Did I mention that I got a red laptop computer for Christmas? I love it.

You must make it a tradition. It sounds and looks like it was a grand place to be, and oh, the food? What I wouldn't give for something like that compared to what I make us to eat on this truck.

And Jennie? You can't leave us hanging like that on the other stuff. Curious minds and all.

Got it thanks. You'd be surprised even with the graphic details, how much it adds to the miles going by on the road. Thanks!

Hum....yup, the comment is kinda like hauling out the naked baby pictures for a girlfriend to see.

That is a delightful Christmas garden place. Definitely make it a traditional visit. We missed the lighting ceremonies in town this year....old and all.

16 says it all. My 3 kids barely made it past 12....you're lucky.

A red laptop? As in red? Red? Really? Whooeee....all i want is a Kindle for 400 bucks and a 3G iPhone at umm maybe 300 bucks....i guess I have to amp up the whine factor.

A red laptop! Dell xps m1330. I was surprised, we usually don't even exchange Christmas gifts! I think Stan got tired of me stealing his work laptop. Now he's getting tired of seeing me play mahjong and free cell all vacation. ;)

We enjoy Christmas Light trips, but only about every three or four years. Then we really make an evening of it. Go to all the rich neighborhoods, special displays, and so forth. Looks like you had a nice evening.

Happy New Year. Y'know, it seems like just yesterday that it was 2008. Time flies, huh?
