Another Trip to Pop Pop's House
It's one of my favorite views. Those trees through Pop Pop's crape myrtles. Sometimes I miss it if I go down to his place too late in the summer. He has a whole row of them lining his property, the happy bushes.
I snapped pictures just for the fun of it, all the way down. Through the orchards...
the corn fields...
past some of my favorite farm houses....
I've seen them all my life each time we drove to my grandparents.
Then we (my two kids and my niece and nephew) stopped at this McDonald's which I read about recently in the news. It was something to the effect - don't worry, the slug and worm infestation at this restaurant was found not to have affected the food served in any way. What the? I didn't eat, but I bought lunch for the kids. I just...wasn't hungry....
Then we reached the farm and I sat inside and talked to Pop Pop about - you guessed it - the Bible. The kids stayed in for a while but then started to root through his garage and then his garden and then who knows what.
Notice the band on Sean's ankle please. (He'd ask that you would.) He just earned that at the pool, allowing him to swim in the deep end now without an adult. The culmination of his summer goal.
Then we left and made our way home back through the beautiful countryside. Counting our many blessings...
the ankle band, flowers, Pop Pop, the Bible, farm houses, nice days, no worms and slugs in our food, nieces, nephews...
